If you have yet to experience the glory of Texas Roadhouse, there are a few things you should know before going. From knowing about all the free food you can expect to their special birthday celebrations, be prepared for the best steakhouse meal you’ve had in a long time.

There is so much meat served at Texas Roadhouse that every location has their own butcher who cuts steaks by hand, and hand-cut, never frozen steaks are always going to be better than the alternative. Every restaurant has a giant meat cooler, too, where the meat is kept at a temperature of 34 degrees. They serve everything from ribeyes to filets to prime rib and New York Strips, along with a ton of other meaty dishes, so you know you’re getting the real, fresh deal.

One Redditor, who says they work in meat prep for Texas Roadhouse, had this to say about the quality of the meat:

“I don’t buy it so I can’t say as to the cost but the quality of it is good. The steaks would be the highest grade, then the leftovers from them are used for the kabobs and Dillo bites…so it may not be the best meat ever but it is good.”

  1. A restaurant that knows how to stay in business, find what it is you do, and do it great, don’t chase fads, because fads are temporary and greatness is forever!

  2. I don't like to go to Texas Roadhouse except for take out because people are too rushed and it's too noisy and it's too hard to reach the manager. I think the kitchen is fine. Recently Texas Roadhouse decided that they wouldn't do cash transactions on pickups anymore so I guess I'll just have to go to Olive garden and elsewhere.

  3. Oh the place who throws its long term enployees in the trash and replaces them with newer, cheaper staff so they can keep costs down. Great place to make no money and be discarded once they feel like "youre making too much". If you wanna get overworked, underpaid and eventually replaced with less qualified employees then this is definitely the place to be.

  4. It may be good but I'm not going to eat at a place that leaves me hearing impaired and with a hoarse voice from trying to have the person sitting across from me hear what I'm saying over the too loud sound system that they insist on using. Besides, I can cook a better steak at home.

  5. I must be reading nothing but propaganda as I scroll down reading about the glories of texas roadhouse. There is one down the freeway from where I live and I made the serious mistake of spending my birthday dinner money there. The service was mediocre at best, almost surly. The steak was about the size of two match book covers drowning in a too glorious throw of fries. Over priced and over crowded. Seriously, the place sucked big time. This was almost two years ago. I've not made the mistake of returning….never will. It's not what it is, it's what people think it is…..fools…..
