  1. Hi everyone! It's been a busy few months since my last video. I'm in the process of creating a tutorial on setting up your own dedicated server for gaming, file sharing, Plex, etc… Subscribe so you don't miss out on the new content coming soon!

  2. Every tutorial doesn't seem to work properly or at least doesn't show a fix for my issue. Whenever I run:
    MariaDB [mysql]> CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED BY 'password!';

    I get the following error:
    ERROR 1146 (42S02): Table 'mysql.db' doesn't exist

  3. Can this be done if im on win7 x64 8gb ram i3 800mb/s download speed and 900mb/s upload speed ? And can i add plugins and if so then how? Also, do you have a discord? I want to make just a server for me and maybe 5 more friends, I wanna experiment things around, with plugins and worldedit and so on, and I need a lot of space allocated for the server, memory etc, I quite understood the context of this tutorial but not all, if you are willing to help me with that I would appreciate it.

  4. What do I do if it says Welcome to Minx! If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and working. Further configuration is required. ?????

  5. Was "Wings" not a thing when you made this last year? I'm very new to this and I'm working on getting it set up just for home servers with the ability for friends to connect in. Their documentation has slid downhill on a few steps but your video has helped me a few times so far! Thanks

  6. When I try to enter: CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password BY 'somePassword';
    i receive "CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password BY 'somePassword';

    ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'BY 'somePassword'' at line 1" error

    Do i need to install a different mariaDB version

  7. hi, i got this error
    SyntaxError: /srv/daemon/config/core.json: Unexpected token : in JSON at position 5    at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)    at Object.Module._extensions..json (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:797:27)    at Module.load (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:653:32)    at tryModuleLoad (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:593:12)    at Function.Module._load (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:585:3)    at Module.require (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:692:17)    at require (internal/modules/cjs/helpers.js:25:18)    at Function.<anonymous> (/srv/daemon/node_modules/rfr/lib/rfr.js:160:12)    at Config.raw (/srv/daemon/src/helpers/config.js:40:20)
       at new Config (/srv/daemon/src/helpers/config.js:34:38)
    how to fix it?

  8. Hi,
    I seem to be stuck at the daemon/node configuration at 19:32.

    Your panel and the support docs say to copy the json file, although I get an yml file from my panel which it says needs to be placed as config.yml in /etc/pterodactyl.
    However, that directory does not exist.
    The support docs offer no guide to this. And throwing it into Google also doesn't result in much useful results.

    I'm pretty sure I followed everything carefully. With your video and pterodactyl's guide.

    Any tips?

    Edit:
    It seems I'm using the new 1.0.0+ version of pterodactyl. Which was released like 27 days ago.
    For anyone else running into this: you can just follow this guide and when you get at the step where you have to create a config.json but the panel gives you an config.yml you need to follow the wings installation guide (https://pterodactyl.io/wings/1.0/installing.html )
    If you know your Linux abc's it's pretty straightforward to do.

    After that you can just follow the rest of the guide.

  9. I had issues with the chmod -R 755 storage/* bootstrap/cache/. Kept getting errors related to not being able to write to storage/ I was able to get it working by using 777 but no other permissions worked. Do you know of a way around this so I don't have to use 777?

  10. When I saw the length of this video and that it's real server set up I thought that you have a lot of subscribers and all these things. But actually not and that's what surprises me. I don't know if it works tho, I haven't tried yet but I'm definitely gonna do it asap. You said in a comment that you can help if some errors happen. I'll contact you eventually, if you are interested in helping me ofc 😀

  11. I feel sorry for this dude.

    1. Great tutorial but it isn't recognised
    2. 60% of comments just think this is free Minecraft server hosting
    3. Ubuntu in some cases is really unreliable and different people can get different errors for different reasons

    Good tutorial tho 🙂

  12. Hi! Can I ask how to acquire the public ip that I should hand out to friends? Is it just whatever public ip my browser says when using one of those "whats my ip" tools? Also, if I get that, and the server is on port 25565, forwarded and all, they dont need to put that, correct?

  13. yo this vid was insanely useful, I like how you went through the whole thing and did not leave out a bit. This worked perfectly, aside from a few naming errors on my end, worked awesome by the end. Super duper appreciate you, thanks!!
