  1. if I have a simple project that doesn't use compiler like webpack or parcel, how can I use de .env? dotenv doesn't work on the browser but just with node (backend) and not in jam stack or serverless project… I would hide private key on production by function of netlify

  2. Lol, this video is surreal. Not only are you connecting to Airtable, which is exactly what I'm needing to do with my Netlify functions setup, but you mention me by name as a course creator on Scrimba 😛

  3. I've seen some videos where people could access the function from anywhere, like using postman/insomnia or making a get request in the browser. How to protect this functions?

  4. Thanks James…great video. just got email from Netlify ….Pro package available for $19 a month….3 concurrent builds 400gig a month 1k build minutes, unlimited web sites, site passwords. That price is less than half.
I am just a hobbyist, but its tempting to get more involved….I keep 2 web presence.. hopping to get better. I can't believe how easy it was to get SSL certificate at Netlify, compared to other host. Now I can drag and drop at Netlify …if I give up on Git. Problem is money money every where…it adds up. I am a 69 yr old disabled guy and this stuff keeps me occupied. L O L

  5. I use Netlify for hosting and have kind of dabbled with Netlify functions. They work amazingly well and seamlessly with Next.js API routes which was a very pleasant surprise! Never used Netlify dev before, though. Sounds like a super useful tool for testing things like Forms without having to deploy first!
